St Marys is located in the Fingal Valley in North Eastern Tasmania.  The region's spectacular coastline includes the stunning Bay of Fires, while further inland boasts St Columbia Falls, Blue Tier, south Esk River and portions of the Douglas-Apsley and Mount William National Parks. St Marys Community Health Centre is a government funded community health centre providing a 24 hour inpatient hospital with an emergency care facility. We are seeking the services of a full time General Practitioner to work with the existing full time GP and other health professionals working at the Centre.

About the practice:
The St Marys Community Health Centre provides a 24 hour inpatient hospital with an emergency care facility. An extensive range of community services and activities are also provided through the centre.

The GP service at the centre operates from Monday to Friday 8-30am to 5-00pm.  Weekend on call rotation is provided between the two GPs. 

Visiting services to the practice include:
 -Annual visit by Breast Screening bus
 -Chiropractic Care
 -Diabetics Educator
 -Hearing Services
 -Physiotherapist
 -Podiatrist
 -Psychiatrist
 -Speech pathologist

The practice and community is also supported by monthly visits by a female GP for womens' health through the Royal Flying Doctors Service.

The practice receives generous resource and staff support from the community health centre.

St Marys lies in the Fingal Valley, just 15 minutes from the coast. As well as the fascinating history of the area, there are many beautiful bushwalks with spectacular coastal views.

St Marys is part of The Break ODay Council district which is one of the largest local government areas in the state.  Its population stands at around 6,000 which more that doubles during the summer holiday season.  The principal industries in the area are tourism, mining, forestry, agriculture, fishing and aquaculture.

Information Technology is a growth industry through training, education and development of e-commerce.

Real estate in the area is enjoying a boom with waterfront properties on the east coast in high demand.  Development land for primary production, industrial, business development is also considered very inexpensive yet located in one of the most fertile temperate climates in Australia.
