The Port Sorell Medical Clinic is a recently established clinic in the seaside township of Port Sorell on the North coast of Tasmania. The practice currently employs one full time and one part time General Practitioner and we are seeking a third to join the team. The practice is computerised with modern equipment in place and supportive staff.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.00pm
Saturday & Sunday - on call 1 in 8

About the position

  • Vocationally registered GP is preferred
  • Part time or full time considered
  • Undertake minor surgery
  • Willing to participate in after hour's roster
  • Proficiency in Medical Director & Pracsoft desirable

The practice is seeking to fill the vacancy as soon as possible.

Our patients come from the Port Sorell and surrounding areas, with a large number of retirees and holiday makers from the seaside resort area.

 General Practice North West   is the GP Division supporting practices in our region.

About our region
Latrobe municipality has a diversity of facilities for pleasure and adventure activities.  Latrobe has over 80 properties which are registered with the National Trust and was proclaimed a Historic Town in 1988.  Port Sorell, Shearwater and Hawley offer clean beaches, native reserves, a national park, fishing, water sports and a lifestyle to suit all ages.

Our rural area covers Wesley Vale, Sassafras, Moriarty and several other small areas, which boasts some of the most productive soil in the nation.
Latrobe is home to the Courthouse Museum which is open every Friday and Sunday from 2.00 p.m.- 5.00 p.m.The Museum holds an extensive photographic display on 4 walls of the courtroom which is an historical record on sport, businesses, local identities, recorded and classified residences, machines and equipment displays.
