City Medical Centre is seeking a full-time GP to join our well established modern practice in Devonport. Our practice offers an efficient and extensive range of medical services. The position is offered as an Assistant. We are a private billing practice. In addition to general practitioner services we offer a range of other patient services at the centre. Our philosophy is to practice high quality medical care in a pleasant, relaxed team environment. We provide generous time off to explore the most beautiful state in Australia.

The City Medical Centre is located at 8 Wenvoe Street in Devonport. The practice is a purpose built facility and opened in June 2002 after more than two years of planning. It is the result of the joint amalgamation of two practices in Oldaker Street. The outcome is a bigger, more modern, well-equipped and well-appointed medical centre with a range of medical services.

As a teaching practice we are committed to working with and supporting medical student placements on a regular basis from the University of Tasmania Medical School. We also teach registrars in General Practice.

The practice has a team of friendly staff who are dedicated to providing high quality care to the community. We currently have 13 GPs who are supported by Business and Practice Managers, Reception Staff and Practice Nurses. In addition to general practitioner services we offer physiotherapist, podiatrist, acupuncturist, osteopath, audiology and occupational health services.

Opening hours of the practice are:
-Monday Thursday: 8-30am- 6-30pm
-Friday: 8-30am- 5-30pm
-Saturday: 9-00am- 11-30am
-Sunday mornings when on call

About the position

  • The applicant must be a vocationally registered General Practitioner.
  • Full-time GP Assistant sought ( 9 sessions/week)
  • The practice provides a full range of clinical services including consulting, minor surgery and counselling
  • All GPs at the Practice participate in the after hours roster
  • All GPs at the Practice support local nursing homes
  • Experience with Medical Director software or equivalent is desirable
  • GPs at the practice are actively involved in supporting medical student placements
  • GPs at the practice maintain a range of clinical interests
