The Anne Street Medical Service is a thriving family orientated practice providing full General Practice services to the community of George Town and surrounding areas. An opportunity exists for a full time vocationally registered General Practitioner to join our friendly team of seven GPs and practice staff. The practice has District of Workforce Shortage status.

About the position
Due to one of our full time GPs relocating we are seeking the services of a full time vocationally registered General Practitioner. The position is offered on an "Assistant with a view basis". The successful applicant will be required to provide consulting, minor surgery, counselling and shared care as part of their general routine.

The practice draws patients from across the Tamar Valley and coastal districts. We provide occupational medicine services to a range of local industries.
About our local GP Division GP North is the GP Division supporting practices in our region.
About our region George Town is situated at the mouth of the Tamar River and is 58 km from the city of Launceston. The George Town municipal area is located in northern Tasmania, bounded to the north by Bass Strait, the Tamar River to the west and Little Pipers River to the east. The township of George Town is the administrative centre and is the oldest settlement in the region.
George Town's economy relies heavily upon the industrial zone and deep water port of Bell Bay, just south of the town. George Town's economy is tied closely with the development of industry in the area, and many of the immigrants who came to Bell Bay from the mid-twentieth century have continued to call the municipality home, bringing up families in the district and contributing to the economic development of the area.
